1a. Remove the tip from the bulb and apply antibacterial soap.
1b. Wet the tip with warm water and roll the tip in between your hands for 20 seconds.
1c. Rinse the tip well with warm water until all the soap is gone.
2a. Place the bulb's opening under running warm warm and gently squeeze the bulb. Let go of the bulb so it fills with water.
2b. Place your thumb over the bulb's opening and shake the bulb for 10 seconds. Squeeze out all of the water. Repeat steps 2a and 2b at least 2–3 times.
3a. To fill up your bulb, place the bulb's opening under running lukewarm water and gently squeeze the bulb.
3b. Release your squeeze on the bulb so it can suck up the running water. Repeat 2–3 times, squeezing and releasing the bulb gently each time.
3c. Fill the bulb all the way to the top to avoid any air pockets that could end up in your bum during douching. Three full "squeezes" typically fill up the bulb.
4a. Push the clean tip into the bulb. It may feel extra snug at first when the bulb is new—but it means there's a tight seal and no air going up your bum. The tip connection should never feel loose. If it does, it's time to replace your bulb.
4b. Apply your favorite silicone lube to the tip. Never insert a non-lubricated tip into your rectum or you risk anal irritation.
4c. Make sure to work the lube down the entire tip.
5a. When using the bulb, it's best to stand upright with your foot propped up on the edge of a tub or on a toilet.
5b. Insert the tip into your anus. No need to go all the way to the base! Gently squeeze the bulb to empty the water into your rectum. You might not empty all the water from the bulb—and that's okay!
6a. Sit on the toilet to release the water from your rectum. Inhale through your nose. When you exhale, "moo" like a cow.
6b. This will activate the muscles needed to push out the water without straining. Repeat steps 5a–6b until you feel good to go.
6b. If you are someone that strains a lot on the toilet, consider propping up your knees while releasing the water from your rectum.
